They do it to get people's attention, with all the 'OMG SPECIAL RELATIONSHIP IS OVER!!!11" headlines and all. THIS. There are just so many different opinions- and the only ones that matter are Alfred and Arthur's. And their opinions might be completely different to the government's or whatever. Yes, the only "official" statement is the important bilateral relationship one- we definitely win ;D

I love them so muchhh *-* It just proves that love is more important than politics in hetalia. It also shows that the characters can't fall out of love as quickly as an alliance can end. EMOTIONS ARE MORE IMPORTANT~
