Pairing: USUKUS

Rating/Warnings: K+, nothing beyond fluff

Word Count: 6650

Summary: The development of America and England's relationship as told through one lullaby. Written for sweethearts week, but posting again because now it's all cleaned up (if that's against the rules just let me know and I'll delete this)

America's first music was the sound of nature...

Title: Destiny is Funny that Way
Genre: Angst, fluff, happy ending
Pairing(s): USUK
Rating/Warnings: PG-13/angst
Length: 2473 words
Summary: Don’t kill me. King Arthur gave up on England after his wife left him for his best friend and his son usurped his throne. But England did not give up on him. America is King Arthur. Apologies to every King Arthur enthusiast in the world.
Note: The names in this fic can get confusing. Except where it is made clear that Arthur refers to England, it refers to King Arthur/America. The countries go by their names, America and England.

Title: Caged Bird, Chapter 2
Rating: T
Character(s)/Pairing(s): Revolutionary War. UsUk.
Summary: After their final fight, America and England prepare their army to fight with each other. It is the beginning of the end.
Author's notes: The continuation of the story. Preparations starting!
Disclaimer: I don't own this series in any way.

"Enough!" The shout echoed through the room and the soldiers shrieked. )
Title: Caged Bird Chapter 1
Rating: T
Character(s)/Pairing(s): UsUk. Revolutionary War.
Summary: "I need your guidance, not your dominance!" Those words stabbed his caretaker and America knew it. This was his worst fight with England, one that might separate them forever. "And even so... I choose independence." England and America's decisive fight.
Author's Note: My first attempt at angst and second attempt at USUK. Set in the end of America's colony era and portrays his decisive fight with England. I really like this pair's dynamic, either in the past or future (modern time). This story will narrate the events from before and after the Revolutionary War.
Disclaimer: I don't own this series in any way.

"Okay, that's it!" The blond with unruly hair and sapphire eyes marched into the room, fuming, while being followed by a shorter blond with messy hair (...) )
Title: Alfred the Noble

Character(s)/Pairing(s): America and England; USUK

Rating: PG

Warnings: Lots of history, and referencing some medieval torture.
Summary: America has always assumed he was named for Alfred the Great. England tells him otherwise.

Notes: I've had this as a drabble for literal months, ever since I first learned about this person in my medieval England class. Anyway, this is my headcanon for why America's human name is 'Alfred'. Boatloads of history, everything was gleaned from my class notes. Please enjoy!

( You know how to research? )
Title: Today it's also raining
Rating: K+
Character(s)/Pairing(s): England centric. Light, fluff USUK at the end.

Author's Note: My first attempt at USUK.
Disclaimer: I don't own this series in any way.
Yesterday was raining and today it's also raining. )

I work at a library, and uncovered a real treat today: The Best From Yank, the Army Weekly. Yank was a magazine published by the US military during WWII and was written by enlisted soldiers only. There are quite a few interesting stories and articles in here, including one titled 'What Do We Think of the British?' which gives an American view on the average British soldier. I thought some of you might find this interesting, so I've included some passages below.

So what does the American soldier think of the British? )

Title: A Torment to Themselves [1/2]
Character(s) or Pairing(s): USxUK, past USJapan that's still fairly relevant
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Historically unpleasant subjects. Kinda choppy writing.
Summary: England wonders if he'll ever be alone in his relationship with America.
A/N: I started this like, a half a year ago when [livejournal.com profile] kochiroo  asked around the USxUK community for something along the lines of England and America being together, but England being upset by America's close relationship with Japan. As you can see, I did not do this in a timely fashion. Forgive me ;_;

“You, you know… He’s talking about our countries but, I have been hoping that perhaps our, our personal relationship could also…”

“…Become a bit more special?”
Title: Of Freedom and Anarchy
Author/Artist: Me.
Characters: England, America, random British soldiers and American colonists.
Rating: PG
Warnings:  It deals with the Revolution, so some angst I suppose. And misusing British slang.
Summary: For the kink meme prompt: Something based off of this picture. Some of the America colonists have been acting up, but that doesn't mean England has to worry about America himself...right?

How did it come to this? )
Here's a little real world US/UK for you.  It's a CNN article, which timelines the Special Relationship  (Some entries are quite funny.  I was laughing throughout reading it XD)  I thought you guys might like to read it.

An almost-accurate look at U.S.-UK 'special relationship'

I found it entertaining and funny, but YMMV ^^'

Edit: Looks like they changed the article.  Good thing I saved it :D  (Though the new article is just as good <3 )

This is a portion of a Fancomic by Phobs I found on Deviantart, and I thought you all would appreciate it. ^_^

Title: The Revolution: Betrayal, Independence, and Re-Kindled Love
Genre: Historical
Pairing(s): England/America but also America/England
Rating/Warnings: PG-13 for ANGST and England's tsundere-ness/potty mouth. I think England may be bi-polar. (and human names) if that scares people.
Summary: America just wants to be treated fairly. But obviously, it's too much to ask. War ensues.

Fake cut to my journal:

Got you there, didn't I?
Anyways, while looking through articles (since I have nothing else to do on a Halloween night *cries*) I found this:

Lockerbie: US will not divorce UK

yes, lockerbie again, but it's still sqee worthy )
All I can think now is..."so, when are we getting that full partnership?"

I will probably delete this in a few days, but I just found it and thought I'd share this you all.  I know a lot of you have been hearing the "special relationship" is not too good these days, but, just recently, I found this:

New US Ambassador Louis Susman calls for a stronger 'special relationship'

So, this is what happens when you are a college student on Sunday who is  procastinating  instead of writing a paper for seminar and decides to type "Special Relationship" in Google images to see how many images pop up!  Yeah...I really don't have a life.  So anyway, I found a lot of pictures that I'd like to share with you XD

Warning: These images will either make you extremely happy, very sad, hopefully not slightly offended, or make you squeel you heads off XD
And this will be image heavy.

I don't know if this is allowed or if I should move this to [info]lolsogeographic  so mods please tell me

So I was doing some research for a class and I came across an article on BBC from 2003 (so long ago!)  The title?

US and UK: A transatlantic love story?

So I had to click it and it showed a chart of their love/hate relationship from the Revolution to the Blair/Clinton era

click to see said chart )

The previous (now deleted) post reminded me of something that has nothing to do with current issues (and as such I hope it's allowed here) but is no less relevant to the community's interests (I think)... (watch me abuse the poor parentheses)

Rare copy of the US Declaration of Independence found in Britain.

Aaaawwwww.

Also contains the line "The Declaration of Independence is effectively America's birth certificate ..." :D

And it was found in perfect condition, too. I imagine England took good care of it likely out of sheer masochism until he decided it was time he tried to move on. Or maybe it was the hundredth copy he received and he was tired of ripping them all to shreds.
Finally got around to doing this. I know as a fic writer I'm always trying to reference strips and it's just plain tedious to browse through the scanlation site looking for America and England's names listed together on the sidebar. So, here's a (hopefully) fairly accurate timeline. ^^
