Secondly - when I was at

kieseltan 's place last week, we actually wanted to cosplay the new Halloween outfits. Sadly, we didn't have enough time, so we improvised and did the Counting Sheep versions :D ...perfect timing, as I just noticed. There you go! I'm America, btw.
~~And someone go tell her that her outfit looks perfectly fine because she didn't believe me~~

So ah, we had another photoshoot with my husband and friend as America and England (you know, the ones with the y chromosomes ;-) They included a tea party on a tank, angsty injured England, and the red string of fate. I thought you guys might appreciate, so I figured I would post a link here to the dump. MAJOR apologies to anyone seeing this twice...I changed the preview pic up so at least it won't be too monotonous? x_x! Also be warned, there are America/Belarus pictures at the very end, so feel free to skip if that is not your cup of tea.

Hey! This past weekend my girlfriend and I attended New York Anime Festival. We went as America and England on Saturday and Sunday and I must say we were a big hit! So many people asked us for our pictures! We also had many people come up to us saying that we made their day simply because we were an actual couple doing mushy things at a con!

In honor of finally getting to go to a con with my England cosplay, I give you.....a ton of pictures! Like, really...this is very image-heavy. Anyway, here's proof that I can actually do more than write short one-shots. OTL

*steps in shyly* Heeey...I'm sorry if you guys saw this already on the main comm when I posted it a few days ago. Please feel free to skip over this if you have! But I was told you guys might I appreciate the USUK part of the photoshoot my husband and good friend did (who are both guys.) Warning, it is pretty cracked out and silly >D There is also an America/Belarus pic at the end of the USUK batch (plz don't be hatin', England is doing that already >D) and there is a batch above it that features the other Allies and Belarus.

Hey it's Independence Day, so I wanted to do something revolutionary. Since I can't really write or draw, I wanted to write up some historical documentation for the outfits

antieden and I did in case anyone else would like to use the information to make their own outfits. While I will try and mention both the historical way of doing the costumes as well as the "short-cut" way, I will definitely be leaning more towards the historical and people can simplify as they see fit. Good? Good.

I also want to say that most of this information has been acquired from online and library research. Colorado, where I live, does not really have a teeming Colonial Reenactment group, although I was lucky enough to have some friends from the east coast that I could bounce ideas off of and double-check measurements. I should also mention that since I was making America's outfit, the vast majority of my research was from Colonial sources, which I then applied to England's for the most part. However, as

nightblink pointed out to me, the English were FAR more specific about their uniforms (the Colonists were lucky to GET uniforms). If you are doing an England costume and you take pride in having the little details correct, you might want to do some of your own more thorough research into the differences.
