Yeah, his accent is General American (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_American), AKA the 'non-accent.' I'm actually pleased with this. Giving America a regional accent would have been weird to me, and something Southern or Western especially so, considering that a lot of those states came into the Union long after the US was established.
