So everybody knows about Uncle Sam and John Bull, the original national personifications of the U.S. and Britain, that appeared in political cartoons and art waaay back in the day?

I'm not sure if these sorts of things have been posted elsewhere already, but I figured this was pretty relevant to US X UK so I decided to show a few that I've found which have amused me XD!

This one is depicting a 'what if' Germany wins scenario. Sam and Bull are prisoners chained together.

They can't fight, they're too tied together! 'sup bondage?

This one is one of the easier ones to find. I love how they've got the bald eagle (looks sort of like a sea gull) and the lion.

US is beating him. LOL, sorry I just found this one hilarious.

This is my personal favourite! Not only do we get to see Uncle Sam and John Bull holding hands and staring lovingly at each other (o_O!) but their female counterparts of Columbia and Britannia are in the background doing the same thing!

Edit!

Kind of busted, but I tried X_X

All these historical drawings I found from a great website called Son of the South!
