Wow everyone, we already have over two hundred members. Awesome! So let's get this party started.
A couple of us have mentioned that we'd like to do a fic/art-athon or challenge here. However, I'm debating two ways to go about doing it. I'd also like to gauge how much interest there would be. Whichever way we go, it will be both a fic and art project. That way both fic writers and artists can have a chance to spread the America/England love. :)
Fics/Art would need to involve the America/England pairing, obviously. Whichever one we decide on, the actual entry post will have far more details. This is just to give a very bare bones idea of what each idea would entail.
-FIC/ART-ATHON- We would provide themes (lyrics, phrases, historical events, etc), and you'd be able to choose one and complete a fanwork that somehow incorporates it. Only one person per theme. You pick which theme you want. And although we won't run out (we'll make sure I have more than enough), you'd want to choose early in order to get a theme you really like. There would be a due date (no less than two months from now), and then all submissions would be archived and linked to in a fic/art-athon post on the community.
-FIC/ART EXCHANGE- You create a fanwork, and you'll receive one in return. Everyone who wishes to participate will provide a few prompts that they'd like to see completed, and another community member will be assigned their prompts and will complete one of those (which one is completed is up to the person they're assigned to). It will be set up so you should not receive/have to create something you're uncomfortable with. Again, there would be a due date (no less than two months from now), and then all submissions would be archived and linked to in a fic/art-athon post on the community.
[Poll #1374674]
Please vote for whichever one you would be interested in participating in. If you're not interested in either, please choose the third option. If you're not interested in either and have another suggestion, please choose the fourth and COMMENT with your suggestion.
And if you have any questions, let me know!
