Calendars shipped out+ ARTIST LOVE POST

The love party was put on hold for a bit, but I promise it will be up in the next week.

Also, we will be doing the Special Relationships Sweetheart project again this year. It was such a huge hit last year (there were something like three hundred fanworks posted), that we thought it would be fun to do again. Like last year, there will be PRIZES. More information will be posted closer to the date. :D

All of the calendars from the preorder have been shipped out. If you ordered one of the extra calendars and paid me before Tuesday afternoon, yours has also been shipped out. If you paid me after that, it will be shipped out tomorrow or whenever you do pay. Those of you that live in the U.S., many of you have received your calendars already. If you haven't, they SHOULD arrive tomorrow or Saturday.

This calendar would not have been remotely possible without the twenty-five amazing artists that contributed to it. I can't thank them all enough for participating in this project. I talked one on one with a lot of them throughout the project, and I know how hard they worked on their pieces and how many long hours went into creating them. They all turned out so beautiful.

As such, we decided to put up an...

ARTIST SQUEE POST!

Once you have your calendar, feel free to come to this post and give the artists the mad props they deserve. You are welcome and encouraged to comment on as many pieces of art and artists as possible, or you can also just leave a few general comments. To the artists who participated in the calendar; you are also welcome to comment here. I hope to see lots of love for our brilliant artists!

CALENDARS ARE HERE+Order one of our leftover calendars!

Awesome news, everyone!

THE CALENDARS ARE HERE!

They are packed up and ready to go. I just need to take them to the post office tomorrow. UPS originally told me Thursday, but they delivered them today instead (augh). Nonetheless, they're here now, and we got them ready to go immediately. Again, I am so, so sorry for the delay on these.

If you receive your calendar in the mail, and there is some kind of mistake, please email me right away so I can fix it.

If you missed out on ordering a calendar, we have great news for you! We have a limited number of calendars still available for purchase. We had some 'leftovers.' If you pay now, I can even ship them out tomorrow. I'll edit this post when we are out of calendars. Until I do so, we have calendars left and you are free to order one (or more than one!).

These calendars are FOURTEEN DOLLARS USD (plus shipping).

In addition to the leftovers, we have several calendars that had printing errors. These calendars still have ALL of the pages, so you won't be missing out on any of the beautiful art. The error in the printing is that they printed one of the pages twice. Basically it's the exact same calendar but with an extra duplicate page.

We are selling those calendars for a discounted price of TEN DOLLARS USD (plus shipping).

If you want any of these calendars-

PLEASE EMAIL AND SEND THE FOLLOWING FORM TO: usxukcalendar@gmail.com

Name:
Full address:
Quantity of calendars you wish to order:
Normal calendar or printing error calendar:
Paypal username:

With the subject line- USxUK Calendar Order + YOUR NAME. You can put your livejournal name, your real name, whatever here.

For example, my subject line would be-

USxUK Calendar Order- Haro

We will get back to you with your total+shipping ASAP, as well as the paypal address you need to send payment to. :)

EDIT: Calendars are now sold out. If you are still wanting one, please email me and I'll put you on a WAITING list just in case someone else backs out.

Thank you everyone for participating in this amazing project. You all are stars. ♥

[MOD POST] Calendars, Santas, Love Parties

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic new year.

A few short notes for you all:

--Where are your calendars? Unfortunately there was a problem with the printing company taking much longer than the time I was told to ship the calendars out to me.

They just shipped them out to me YESTERDAY, so I should be shipping them out to you by next Thursday at the latest. I'm really, really frustrated over it, but unfortunately I think there's not much I can do. I'll do a post to [livejournal.com profile] usxuk the moment I've shipped them out to you all. I'm so sorry, everyone!

--Secondly, regarding the Secret Santa- A few of you have not received gifts yet. Do not fret. I have pinch hits organized for you! I sent out the 'last batch' of pinch hits a few days ago, and all of the gifts should be posted within the next several days. In the meantime, please do check THIS post to doublecheck and see if your gift has already been posted or not. There are still a lot of gifts without replies from their recipients!

--Lastly, LOVE PARTIES will be resuming soon on their regularly scheduled basis (twice a month). I'll be posting one again next week, once the Santa has officially wrapped up!

USxUK Calendar Preorder Reminder

I've seen proofs of the calendar, and it looks great. I can't wait to receive them and send them all out to you.

YOU STILL HAVE TIME TO ORDER YOURSELF ONE HERE!

But preorders close TODAY at 11:59 US CST. That's about 7 1/2 hours from now. You MUST have your preorder form in by then. I will be online AT THAT TIME to reply to any last minute preorders on the usxukcalendar address, so if you can't get it sent until like, 11:45, that's fine.

All PAYMENT must be in by 12:00 p.m. CST TOMORROW, which is twelve hours after the preorder due date. If something has happened, and you cannot get it in by that time (i.e. can't send it until after school or something), PLEASE let me know. Unless I have spoken to you about it, I will cancel your preorder if I do not have payment by that time.

I have sent emails out to everyone who has preordered but not paid (unless you're someone I have spoken to). If I sent you an email and you HAVE already paid, please email me back and let me know I made a mistake.

I hope you're all having a great holiday season!

The 2011 USxUK Calendar is a twelve month calendar featuring art from twenty-five extremely talented members of the USxUK fandom. Artists were chosen by the members of [livejournal.com profile] usxuk, and all of them have gone above and beyond in creating gorgeous pieces of art.

The calendar features artists from over twelve different countries, all contributing beautiful works to celebrate this beloved pairing.

Calendar Voting- RESULTS

We had about one hundred of you vote, which is a pretty great turnout. Out of fifty artists, twenty-five made it. I really honestly wish we could have accepted many more. There is such talent in this community, that it kind of blows me away. In short, you all are epic. ♥

And the winners are... )

ALL ACCEPTED ARTISTS: Please watch for an invite to [livejournal.com profile] usxukcalendar. This is just a community we set up so we don't clog this community with reminders and information posts for the artists. Please join this community and add it to your friends list. If you go here and do not see an invite, let me know and I'll get you one ASAP. Once you've done that, go to this post. There you will find the month you have been assigned, and I'd also like if all artists could check in there.

Keep being the awesome community members you all are!

Last Minute Audition Reminder+Some new info!

Just a quick last minute reminder for the USxUK calendar auditions! You must have your audition in by 12 a.m. CST tonight. Here is a countdown.

You can submit your audition here!

I've found the service I'm using to print the calendars. Tentatively, the price INCLUDING shipping is slated to be fifteen dollars USD within the US and Canada, and eighteen dollars USD for elsewhere. It may end up being less though, depending on if I can catch one of their promotions (hopefully I can!). The calendars will be 8 1/2x11 (which will open to 11x17).

As for Secret Santas, we're working hard on getting everyone matched up. We ended up with 162 signups(!!), so it's taking a bit. They will be sent out by the promised deadline of 11/07 though. :D

Last Minute Secret Santa Reminder

We have about one hundred and thirty signups right now, which is epic, but we'd love to have even more. Topping last year's one hundred and fifty would be amazing. Remember that signups are due at MIDNIGHT CST TODAY. That gives you about twenty hours from now.

Ready?

GO AND SIGN UP HERE!

And about the 2011 calendar project- About thirty people have auditioned, and almost twice as many of you said you'd definitely be up for participating (that's not counting all the many, many maybe votes). I hope to see a lot more of you interested parties submit your forms before the deadline. It's only a couple more days until that's due (November 2nd, this Tuesday!), so go submit your samples and form here to audition!

2011 USxUK Calendar Audition Post

If you haven't yet voted in the poll, please do so here!

Here is the audition post. Please read it carefully! If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

This is what you'll need to provide:

-Name. Self explanatory.

-Email Address. The comments are screened, so you don't need to space it or anything. Just write it as is. It makes it easier for me to send emails.

-Do you have a website/deviantart/art journal? You may link this here if you wish, but it is not required.

-Please provide three samples of art. At least one sample must be Hetalia art (preferrably OF America and England, although that is not necessary), and at least one sample must be a full color piece. Please choose art that you feel shows your skill! The art you complete to be featured in the calendar must be G-PG (kissing, cuddling, shirtlessness, etc are fine. But nothing risque), but you can use higher rated art for your samples. R-18 is fine for the audition.

-Months you would be most interested in? Please list the THREE months you'd be most interested in drawing for, in order of preference. If you'd like to do the cover you can list that as one of your three as well. The piece you draw if accepted must be themed for whichever month you are assigned. It can be a holiday (i.e. a Halloween image for October), something associated with the month (i.e. April showers), or just something that fits the season (i.e. curling up because it's cold outside). You could even use a historical event as your backdrop. It's up to you! You're welcome to get creative as well. And no you don't need to tell me here what you have in mind right now. Just list the months. I will try my hardest to get everyone one of their preferred months, but I cannot promise it.

You will have approximately a month to complete your art. I will send out your assignments by November eighth if you have been accepted, and you must get them in by December fourth (which gives you almost four weeks). If you are accepted, you will also be invited to a community I'm setting up for the project. I'm making this so I don't have to clog this community with announcements for the artists. All information- such as necessary dimensions for the piece (so it fits the calendar) and other specifics, will be posted there. ^^

Depending on where I get it printed, I might actually have room for some more artists. I'm considering small pieces of art at the bottom (they'll need to have white backgrounds though, so they look natural down there). As such, don't be shy about auditioning.

AUDITIONS MUST BE IN BY TUESDAY NOVEMBER SECOND AT MIDNIGHT CST. This gives you about a week and a half.

COMMENTS ARE SCREENED.

Ready? Now fill out the form!

-[livejournal.com profile] haro

Edit on 10/30: I've found the service I'm using to print the calendar. It will be an 8.5' by 11' inch calendar (that's the size when closed), and we will indeed be doing the inset art pieces. :D

All accepted artists will receive a free calendar.

USxUK Calendar Project

[livejournal.com profile] kanami_yuuta brought up an awesome idea for a community project, and I figured I'd run it all by you.

How would you all feel about producing a 2011 USxUK calendar, featuring art by the talented members of this community?

Cost for the calendar would be cost of printing+shipping to you. I don't have a cost yet, but I'd try my damndest to keep the total with shipping under twenty dollars.

As for art, we would need THIRTEEN different artists in order to participate; one for each month and one for the cover. I imagine that if this goes through, more than thirteen artists may be interested. I'd be putting up a post (with screened comments) to serve as an 'audition' of sorts, where artists can submit some of their previous art and we decide from there. All artists will be given proper credit. I plan on printing the calendars with either the name of the artist and a link to their livejournal/devart/website/wherever on their respective page, or with an 'index' in the back featuring that information.

POLL TIME!

[Poll #1634645]

YOU DO NOT NEED TO VOTE IN ALL THREE. VOTE IN ONLY THE ONES THAT APPLY TO YOU. IF YOU ARE NOT AN ARTIST, *PLEASE* DO NOT VOTE IN POLL THREE.

Now looking for some member feedback:

-If this calendar goes through, how would you like it to be set up? Size, printing, etc.

-For me: I would love suggestions as to the best places to get high quality printing for a good price. I live in the states, but I am willing to order from an overseas site if they ship here, so don't let that limit you. I've been looking around at places myself, but I know we have some fans here who have printed doujinshi and such that may have great suggestions.

-Any other suggestions for the project?
