As a Brit, I can't tell you how much I'd hate it if England became the 51st State. It'd hurt a lot and I'd fear my culture being overriden/subjugated by America's. As a story though, it's got a lot of potential because of those issues. The angst <3. I love how this is drawn, and how darkly possessive the act of wrapping England in the American flag is.
